Although at a glance the new 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE doesn't look much different than its predecessor, we can assure you that the new GLE is completely redesigned from the ground up. Boasting increased legroom and expanded headroom, the new 2020 GLE now offers a third-row seating option for the first time ever in the GLE-Class.

The new 2020 GLE incorporates a pair of 12.3-inch digital display screens in the cockpit, replacing the old dual gauge clusters and bulky center stack control panel, that now come standard with the latest Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system. Also new is the available E-Active Body Control option, which is an innovative trick suspension system that adjusts damper control and ride height for each individual wheel when traversing uneven terrain.

Style & Design

In comparison to the old model, the new 2020 GLE sports a redesigned, sophisticated body shape that features far less sculpted exterior lines. This simplistic, yet elegant, design helps to accentuate the GLE's radiant new headlights and makes the rear doors appear just a bit longer than the previous year-end model's.

To reduce the SUV's drag coefficient, Mercedes-Benz refurbished the new GLE's frontal plane with a fresh face that's noticeably less swoopy. Looking at the new GLE from the side and from the rear, you can clearly see a noticeable difference in the design of this luxury cruiser in 2020. Restructured with a smoother, more graceful appearance, the new GLE is highlighted by its new, revitalized taillights that are mounted higher on the body and are much slimmer than on the outgoing model.
